Information-based disturbance management for public transport

Information-based disturbance management for public transport

Information accessibility for travelers and operational planning of public transport has been developed for the better. But especially when it comes to situations of disturbance, it is problematic for both travelers and planners to get a correct picture of the situation, including information about available options for immediate action. Often the amount of information is not the problem but to get relevant and correct information (including assessment of its reliability). Furthermore, the lack of good decision support is a problem. A major obstacle is the effective sharing of information between the players; including the exchange of information on planned and potential measures.

The purpose of the project is to facilitate travelers and planners to get a correct picture of the situation in case of disturbance. Often the amount of information is not the problem but to get relevant and accurate information that you can rely on.
