All Aboard! Towards future mobility and digital service solutions accessible to all

The project “All Aboard!” aims to harness societal knowledge on various mobility solutions, digitalisation, and new accessibility from an intersectional perspective, with particular attention to age and gender, especially considering older adults.

Significant efforts are underway, both nationally and internationally, to test various solutions based on digitalisation and different forms of mobility. However, research indicates that follow-ups, knowledge acquisition, and experience-sharing of new initiatives are often lacking. Some findings also suggest that these initiatives tend to dissolve once projects end and may rely heavily on individual champions. There are few follow-ups that take into account different groups’ experiences and reflections on new solutions or that explore long-term behavioural changes, business models, strengths, and challenges in depth.

The project also seeks to challenge conventional notions of movement and mobility by exploring how mobility can be replaced by new forms of accessibility, for example, through digital solutions. It considers conditions and initiatives in different geographical contexts, generating new and enhanced knowledge that questions established ideas about mobility and travel behaviour while examining the feasibility of emerging solutions.
