Asifa Iqbal is an Assistant professor of Urban planning at the University of Gävle, Sweden. Her research explores the intersection of safety, environment, and urban planning, with a focus on creating safe and inclusive public spaces. Drawing on her background in architecture, she examines how urban form, the built environment, and open spaces influence perceptions of safety. She is particularly interested in extending her work to the transport sector, studying how urban form and station-area design affect perceptions of safety and inclusion, especially from a gender perspective.
