Cecilia is a licensed occupational therapist and holds a PhD in Health Sciences with a specialisation in Occupational Therapy. She is an Associate Professor of Health Sciences at Kristianstad University (HKR). Her main research area concerns assistive technology, with a particular focus on wheelchair use in different environments, discrimination, and accessibility. In addition to her doctoral thesis, “Powered mobility device use: participation and accessibility”, she has conducted and is currently involved in international, interdisciplinary research projects.

Cecilia also has a second research area focusing on care in ordinary housing, with emphasis on care staff, the person receiving care, and family members. She has carried out interdisciplinary projects examining how the home functions as a care environment — encompassing both a workplace and the resident’s private home.
