Lars Olsson is Professor of Psychology at the Department of Social and Psychological Studies and the Service Research Center (CTF) at Karlstad University. His main research areas concern the role of psychological mechanisms in everyday travel, accessibility, experiences, and well-being, and are grounded in the conditions and consequences associated with the transition towards sustainable travel behaviour. Olsson has developed several questionnaire instruments for measuring transport-related psychological mechanisms, which are used both nationally and internationally. His research spans children and adults, individuals with functional impairments, and older populations, and is applied to car travel, public transport, ridesharing, and on-demand services.
