Travel opportunities in everyday life among older people in metropolitan areas

Travel opportunities in everyday life among older people in metropolitan areas

The aim of the project is to develop and deepen knowledge about mobility, aging and traffic planning, with a particular focus on public transport. In this way we can better understand how to think about policy and planning in terms of public transport and any special needs of people in this age group. Travel possibilities and actual trips among younger elderly people (within the age range 65-79) living in Sweden's metropolitan area are studied. The aim is that the study should contribute to a better understanding of the differences among younger elderly people and how such differences affect their travel opportunities in different ways.
