Reserved lanes and bus streets have proven to be effective measures to increase accessibility for public transport. The disadvantage is that buses are only given an increased priority where it is possible to reserve a whole lane while the road's capacity becomes significantly lower when lanes are used for public transport. Often there is no space in the street for additional lanes and a relocation to give public transport a lane is not always possible or economically profitable. A solution to this can be dynamic bus lanes. This type of bus lane is reserved for public transport only when public transport needs it and otherwise available to all vehicles. By doing this, public transport can be prioritized even when there is no possibility of separate bus lanes.

The purpose of the project was to investigate what potential dynamic lanes have as a priority for priority of public transport, but also other commercial traffic, such as, for example, distributed freight, emergency vehicles and taxis.
