Emma Strömblad

PhD student
emma.stromblad@tft.lth.se

Emma's research focuses on travel behaviour when travelling for leisure purposes. Leisure travel stands for a great proportion of the total distance travelled by car in Sweden today and thus is a major contributor to the greenhouse gas emissions from transportation. Yet we do not know much about how to change behaviours in relation to leisure travel. Emma's research aims to create a better understanding of the characteristics of leisure travel, and what motivates people when it comes to choosing destinations, travel modes etc. for leisure trips.

Sergei Dytckov

PhD student
sergei.dytckov@mau.se

I am a doctoral student in the Department of Computer Science and Media Technology at Malmö University. I work with micro-level simulations of Demand-Responsive Transport (DRT), trying to understand how a DRT service can be efficiently implemented and what are the consequences of its introduction. DRT has been long considered as a social service aimed at travellers with mobility restrictions, but recently it was reenvisioned as a service for the general public (or even a combination of both).

In my PhD-project, I explore how Swedish transport and environmental politics is constructed. I am interested in questions of power and language, especially in connection to overarching ideas about sustainability, mobility and growth.
