The Way Forward, K2 Conference 2016

K2 Conference is arranged every second year. The first conference took place Sept 2014 in Malmö and the second one will take place October 5-6, 2016 in Stockholm at Kollektivtrafikens hus. The aim is to discuss results from ongoing K2 research and the way forward.

 

 

Target group: Researchers and other co-workers involved in K2, the K2 International Advisory Group, as well as stakeholders in the Swedish public transport sector and others interesting in ongoing K2 research.
Price of attendance: 600 SEK including coffee both days, Conference Dinner Day 1 , and Lunch Day 2.


Day 1:

Keynote speech by professor Nigel Wilson, MIT, and presentation of research results from K2 research areas Societal impacts, Digitalisation and Financing and Governance.

Day 2:

Keynote speech by Didier van de Velde, TU Delft, and presentation of research results from K2 research areas Travel Behaviour and Collaboration.


Keynote speakers:

Nigel Wilson, professor MIT and director of the MIT Transit Research Program, has more than 30 years experience dealing with operations, management and planning issues associated with transit systems worldwide. His research and teaching focus on urban public transportation, including topics related to the operation, analysis, planning and management of transit systems

Didier van de Velde, Assistant Professor TU Delft, is researching institutional reforms in urban and regional passenger transport and the railways. He has published several papers in which he presents a comparative international analysis of how competition and contracting are experienced in passenger transport. He is particularly interested in the factors that shape the evolution of institutions
