Transport planning and decision making

Urban and transport planning has for a long time been car-centric. Since a couple of years, Swedish municipalities, regions and Sweden on a national level have formulated goals to reduce the transport system's car dependency and to reduce the transport sector's emissions of carbon dioxide. However, current decisions made regarding urban and transport planning at national, regional and local levels do not contribute sufficiently to a more sustainable transport system for these decided goals to be achieved.
